SG 553 Skins

The SG 553 is the Terrorist-side scoped assault rifle, the direct counterpart to the Counter-Terrorist AUG.

It costs $3000, fires 5.56 from a 30-round magazine, and is defined by its right-click scope: when zoomed and stationary it delivers extremely high first-shot accuracy and one-shot headshot kills through helmets at most ranges thanks to high base damage and strong armor penetration. Off-scope it carries a heavy movement-inaccuracy penalty, so it rewards held angles over run-and-gun.

The cheapest is SG 553 (Night Camo) at $0.00; the dearest, SG 553 (Hazard Pay) at $1,500.

Role, handling and why people buy it

The SG 553 is bought when Terrorists want AUG-style scoped precision on the T side. Its scope tightens the spray and, critically, lets you one-tap helmeted opponents at long range where an AK might require two shots in some edge cases. The tradeoff is steep movement inaccuracy and a slower, more deliberate playstyle than the AK-47. In CSGO it had eras where, at a lower price and stronger accuracy, it was a dominant meta pick before being repriced and tuned; in CS2 it remains a situational eco-to-full-buy rifle for players holding angles, anchoring bombsites, or AWP-style passive setups without the AWP cost. Russian players generally just call it the 'СГ' or 'сижка'; it has no widespread nickname on the level of калаш (AK) or авп (AWP).

Iconic and notable finishes

The SG 553's headline Covert is the Integrale (Snakebite Case), a clean rally-livery design that is the model's flagship high-tier skin. Cyrex (Gamma Collection) is the recognizable red-and-white sci-fi finish and one of the most popular mid-priced picks. Dragon Tech, Pulse, and Aerial fill out the colorful Classified/Restricted band. Among rarer pieces, the Souvenir Bulldozer is the standout collector item: a bright yellow finish from an early collection that, in Souvenir form, commands disproportionate value relative to its base rarity. Cheaper, high-availability finishes include Tornado, Anodized Navy, Army Sheen, Wave Spray, and Damascus Steel for players who just want color without spending.

Float behavior and wear

The SG 553 body shows wear on the receiver, the stock, and the scope housing. Solid-color and anodized finishes (Anodized Navy, Army Sheen, Tornado) hide wear well and look nearly identical from Factory New down through Field-Tested, so Battle-Scarred copies are the value play. Painted and patterned finishes like Cyrex, Integrale, and Dragon Tech show scratching on edges as float climbs, so buyers pay a premium for Factory New / Minimal Wear there. None of the SG 553's standard finishes are pattern-seed lotteries the way AK Case Hardened or AWP-style blue gems are, so float and exterior are the main price levers rather than seed hunting.

Price tiers

Expect roughly three bands. Entry tier: anodized and basic finishes (Tornado, Anodized Navy, Army Sheen, Wave Spray, Damascus Steel) sit at the cheapest end and are effectively cosmetic upgrades over the default. Mid tier: popular painted skins like Cyrex, Pulse, Aerial, and Dragon Tech carry the bulk of trading volume and scale up with lower float. Top tier: the Integrale Covert and the rare Souvenir Bulldozer lead the model, with StatTrak variants and low-float Factory New copies of the desirable finishes adding further premium. Overall the SG 553 market is thinner than AK or M4 markets, so spreads can be wider and rare exteriors harder to source.
